Chef Daniel Gilbert opened his dining room in 1980 and quickly established a reputation for fine, creative dishes. Fresh seasonal produce from local organic farmers blend beautifully with his prepared entrées. The menu changes monthly to take advantage of the seasons and an extensive wine list provides just the right accompaniment to your meal.
In 1986 Daniel added a small intimate bar where locals like to meet for a draft or one of the many fine wines or single malt Scotches. Decorated with folk art by Mary Scattergood, this friendly space makes a refreshing casual spot to meet friends.
In 1996 Daniel opened a Country Inn adjacent to the restaurant. They consist of two renovated heritage homes; The Waller House and the Goodfellow House. Please visit our Country Inn page for more information.
Each month Daniel hosts a variety of special events ranging from Jazz and Blues Nights, Exotic Wine and Beer Tasting as well as his specialty dinners. For the warmer seasons, Daniel’s boasts a beautiful garden patio.
We are also pleased to be able to offer Gift Certificates in any denomination. Please call for details.
